Modi is heightening the contradictions in India faster than people even thought he could. in the west our unions are mostly dead, even in Europe they're a shadow of what we had in the 80s even. so here nobody pushes back against the new economic order where you own nothing. in India they have unions, they have militancy, and they have a history of socialist movements that still come out in force. I'm maybe naive, but I believe in our Indian comrades that all of this is giving them manpower to fight

I think a lot of people in the western left really overlook how close India is getting to The Cool Zone. sure they have the naxalites and some communists in local government, but those are very regional and India is very big. meanwhile at a society wide level unions have grown, gotten more militant, the cost of living and quality of life have gone down, the mass suicide rate among farmers, theres a lot bubbling across Indian society at large
not surprised at all. the whole thing is just such an obvious tax loophole to avoid rich mother fuckers bleeding off any generational wealth. even the ones who do own a farm that does anything, which is clearly not a lot of them, they just have migrant labour run the place. none of them are muddy hands real workers of the land types, anybody who has been around the English countryside and seen these fuckers can tell you that
