ngl, I had this realization when he took office in 2017. I genuinely thought the president had limited powers because of how limited Obama was in passing good things, but then day 1 Trump disproved that
Just seeing posts of people showing off Chinese city infrastructure is making me want to move to China. There was even a video going through a poor neighborhood and it looked better than some rich neighbordhoods I've seen in the US

At this point I believe the democrats are deliberately trying to boost Trump's approval rating.
Why? So they justify their own right wing turn? They want to work across the aisle? Idk pick whatever reason you want.
I guess normalizing Trump does ward off any revolutionary potential in the population, so maybe it's not so farfetched.
So like, when people say we can't increase wages because it will result in higher prices, are they also against investing in useless things like this because it will increase prices? I've heard people say the former alot, rarely have heard the latter.
I've also made the mistake of taking the bait and debating these people, which in my experience never leads anywhere
Definitely have to be careful. What I try to focus on when I talk to people are just the facts, because those are neutral and indisputable. But if you ever talk to someone who knows they can't argue against the facts, they'll resort to straw man arguments where the conversation then turns to establishing definitions (e.g. What is socialism?)
Oh duh to build the infrastructure. Can't wait for the only jobs in the future to be back breaking labour to build AI infrastructure while the Earth burns
