The April 2024 security update is now available for Windows 11.

Windows 11 release notes:

Highlights for Windows 11, versions 22H2 & 23H2:

  • You can now use all voice access features on multiple displays
  • Improves Narrator’s detection of text in images, which includes handwriting
  • You can use quick settings or the Settings app to turn on Nearby Share
  • Adds suggestions to Snap Layouts.

The update includes improvements that were part of KB5035942 (released on March 26)

Highlights for Windows 11, version 21H2

  • This update affects Windows Hello for Business. IT admins can now use mobile device management (MDM) to turn off the prompt that appears when users sign in to an Entra-joined machine.
 

The March 2024 non-security preview release is now available for Windows 11.

Many features released with last month’s Windows configuration update are enabled by default in this update.

  • You can ask Copilot in Windows (in preview) for help ten times when you sign in to Windows using a local account. After that, you must sign in using a Microsoft account (MSA) or a Microsoft Entra ID account.
  • This update adds more content to your lock screen. Sports, traffic, and finance content will appear along with weather.

  • Addresses an issue that affects explorer.exe. It might stop responding when you restart or shut down a PC that has a controller accessory attached to it.
  • The Copilot in Windows icon will appear on the right side of the system tray on the taskbar. Also, the display of Show desktop at the rightmost corner of the taskbar will be off by default.

Highlights for Windows 11, version 21H2

  • This update addresses an issue that affects remote direct memory access (RDMA) performance counters. They do not return networking data on VMs in the right way.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects fontdrvhost.exe. It stops responding when you use Compact Font Format version 2 (CFF2) fonts.

Reminders:

  • After February 2024, there are no more optional, non-security preview releases for Windows 11, version 22H2
 

Windows 11 version 24H2 will be the name of the next major Windows OS update.

 

The 5th moment update for Windows 11 is expected to begin rolling out in late February.

 

The company is backporting the rich MSN weather experience to the Windows 10 lock screen.

Haven't had a ton of free time today to look over everything yet, but the Samsung display stuff I saw was pretty neat. Especially the transparent display. Lenovo also announced a neat 2-in-1 PC/tablet that runs both Windows and Android in their respective modes.
