In short, by 2027 or 2030+ we could be in for a surprise, or more precisely, the emergence of superintelligence and a dystopia that comes with it.

I think I can imagine that this superintelligence that will rule our world will be a mixture of a digital neural network(AI) and a human neural network(grown in a lab. Or someone will simply want absolute power and merge their neural network, or rather their brain with an AI).

Articles I found about it:

Scientists are growing mini-brains to power computers -- https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy7p1lzvxjro

AI 2027 -- https://ai-2027.com/

My thoughts: I think I saw something similar in one dystopia where people were controlled by a similar AI system, that is, artificial intelligence + organic human intelligence. The world there was stable, but all the people were so lonely, stupid, empty, lacking freedom, etc.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

This theory is weaker than the worst terminator movie. Add some details, so it could make some sense.

Excepting stability, isn’t that the current situation?

You’ve bought into the AI hype. Despite the constant drumbeat of breathless AGI predictions, nothing of the sort will happen anytime soon. LLMs have hit the point of diminishing returns in training, even with ever-more insane computational resources being thrown at them. The dystopia we face is of our own doing, catalyzed by social media algorithms. Artificial stupidity.

Tbh, I don't think the current bruteforce methods of just scaling up data centers could result in super intelligence. I think you'd need Neuromorphic chips to do that. And that research is not that far along yet...at least I think it isn't. The problem with using Human brain organoids is that they have an expiration date, I think 2-3 years at this point.

Fascists could never create a super intelligence as that would require regular intelligence to make.

I remembered one passage: there are such madmen who are ready to blow up the universe with their persistence just to achieve their goal, oh yes, these madmen are people, aren't they?
