For those who don’t know, this was a fake ad made up by TopGear.

I was about to post the same. It was a funny episode.

Overheard at the German-Poland border:

  • "Name?"
  • "Klaus Winkle"
  • "Occupation?"
  • "No, just visiting".

Eh it was scripted as hell, and Clarkson is a narcissistic tit. James May and Richard Hammond were the only ones worth watching

I loved TG and I don't see any point in pretending that I actually hated it because JC is a right-wing fuckwit. It was a great show with a very entertaining trio of presenters, it's just that one of them is a complete tosser.

yeah that's true -- it was fun to watch, I've just seen too many of its fans revere Clarksons antics as something to emulate

[–] BremboTheFourth@piefed.ca 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I wouldn't excuse the other two either. They're more quiet about it, but it was their choice to quit and enable Clarkson to take the show somewhere else after he got fired for punching that guy

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 4 points 3 days ago

I don't fault them for that -- they wielded limited power and appeal without Clarkson. May did arguably have his own small show after, but it wasnt the same Tour de Force

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 days ago

I mean yeah it's a reality show, of course it's scripted, and you can actually watch the show while also laugh at that dumbass carbrain.

Click here if you don't understandIt's a World War II reference to Germany invading Poland.

I need more info. How was this accomplished, who was in charge, did they genuinely have a superfuel or oil capacity that enabled this arduous journey?

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 4 points 3 days ago

It's not a reference to any particular drive. It's just that Germans drove tanks into Poland at the start of WW2. The dual meaning of the word "tank" is the pun.

TranscriptionA picture of a VW car driving down a motorway with the road and background blurred. It is captioned:

Golf 7

From Berlin to Warsaw in one tank.

Underneath that is the "Awkward Look Monkey Puppet" meme, awkwardly looking towards the camera and then away.
