My theory is that if you have relentless non-stop pace that’s the same thing as having no pace at all. What you need is to show the differences, the quiet parts make the action parts even more effective. And so that was the thrill and the fun of doing a whole season on one story.

Show is utter dogshit.
I knew one of the worlds sweetest old men through a job I had. He'd talk about jack reacher allll the time. he lent me a book called the midnight line about a hot female pill junkie. I read it cover to cover because he had never asked anything else of me and I had all the time in the world for this guy. it was hysterical. I kicked the front thug's knee out from under him with a fall back side-sweep bone crusher of a kick. "Your move" The other two thugs dropped their lengths of pipe and ran off through the parking lot. "Smarter than they look"
honestly fucking funny. I believe it ended with him tracking down the main pill dealer and killing him by putting him in an industrial dryer and running it for 2 hours
