A chance to experience this classic RPG in a new way, with a turn-based mode coming to the original Pillars of Eternity on November 5th in Beta. The date and a new trailer was revealed today by Obsidian Entertainment.

The second game already has it, and so they're bringing it over to the first game but with some improvements based on previous feedback that includes:

I am excited for this. I enjoy turn based over real time when it comes to games like Pillars of Enternity. I want to be able to take sometime to think things through. I also want to be able to control what the Party does when it's their turn.

The only game that I did enjoy the real time was Dragon Age: Orgins only because you could tell the AI what to do in combat with the triggers. It's becasue I had control over what the AI was going to do.

You might like the Divinity Original Sin series

Almost without a doubt. Original Sin 1 and 2 were my all-time favourite RPGs until the same developer casually released Baldurs Gate 3 and stole the #1 slot.

Been excitedly waiting for this since they announced they are working on it, the game was engaging enough I trudged through it years ago even with my vehement hatred of RTwP. I enjoyed my time with PoE 2 a lot more thanks to it's turn based mode despite it's somewhat flawed implementation, hearing that they learned from that and are addressing the issues with it makes me even more excited to replay it (I kinda hope they go back and retouch PoE 2's turn based mode as well)!
