hey there. i have a virtual TrueNAS running on proxmox. on that truenas i have a SMB share with photos on it. i also installed Immich as an app on truenas. is it possible for immich to show me the images on that shared folder? if so, please help me thanks :)

(the shared folder is also mirroring drives to not lose my data if one of them fails)

this seems like a great document, but i dont have it as a docker container. i have it as an app in TrueNAS. can this still be done?

Look for the additional storage section under the app settings:

I know I can go read, or experiment, but I'll ask anyway - does Immich gracefully handle changes to the external library after the initial import?

Edit - after posting I realised I'm not talking about an external library, but I hope my question makes sense?

I use it for my photos, but I have no specific needs - android app and desktop browser work for me. I'm looking to move my wife's photos over but she needs R/W access to the photos on desktop (probably via a SMB share) for Photoshop etc. Can Immich handle that?

Immich has an administrative function to re-scan a library’s files. You could probably schedule it, too.

ok i did what this document says (CameronDev's screenshot really helped too), but when i scan the library it doesn't do anything. i even changed the permissions for user "apps" with ID 568 to be able to control the shared folders i have

OK this one's solved thanks everyone, i learned all the pics have to be on the path i put into immich, i hoped it would also check for files in the folders i have there
