Is there a way to automatically switch on dark mode like you can turn on night light? Or is it necessary to open the system settings app every time and switch it by hand? I searched around in the system settings but did not find anything about that? Is this a planned feature for a future release or is there a plugin?

Are you on Plasma 6.5 yet? That's supposed to be one of the new features.

Thank you very much, I will try it out when my distro ships Plasma 6.5

In the Global Theme section of settings, there is a toggle for "Switch to Dark Mode and Night". When enabled, it lets you set the times for this to go into effect.

I'm running kde neon and just got updated to 6.5. I think that this feature may have been added in 6.5. If you don't have it yet, you'll probably get it on the next release of whatever distro you're running.

I was not reading the Plasma 6.5 release notes so I was not aware of that. Nice, now I just have to wait.

Yeah, I'm considering migrating from Debian to kde neon on my main PC myself. I always think, "it'll be fine not getting new packages immediately, having stable releases is great" and then someone goes and has a nifty release.

Yes that happens more often than I would like to admit lol
