Dw, the president will use his magic sharpie to send the storm into Democratic states

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 27 points 2 days ago

Oh noes! The dementia took over and he drew a pre-teen female figure with the magic sharpie and wiped out Mar-A-Lago instead..

Episolon was from 2020. Current named storm is Hurricane Melissa, which is far beyond E in alphabetical order.

Epsilon is not E, storm names went Greek after running out of English letters (skipping Q, U, X, Y and Z). E in 2020 was Tropical Storm Edouard.

They now no longer go Greek, there's a list of alternate names and I think it starts over at A.

Except there was a Tropical Storm Epsilon in 2020. And a Hurricane Epsilon in December 2005.

That article wasn't updated when it became a hurricane later.

Now that Republicans are in charge they can use those Hurricane Machines from the Democrat that they were talking about

I didn't fully understood the joke, my only understanding of episilon comes epsilon-delta proofs... I forgot that epsilon in that context measures the certainty of the "Infinitesimal" displacement in x. So when epsilon is really large everyone looses their shit as if the world's going to collapse into a black hole. 😂

Nah, the only bound epsilon has is that it has to be greater than 0, so it can a actually be as large as you want. After all, we prove limits for all epsilon. When dealing with limits, the funky stuff tends to happen when epsilon is small, so that's why we visualize epsilon to be small.
