I'm middle aged, I'm on a hybrid work schedule so I work from home half the week. I've alway been a PC gamer but as I get older I feel less and less like sitting on my PC at home, especially after sitting on it all day for work.

Enter the Steamdeck! I've only had it for a week and man I'm loving this thing. Couch gaming is where it's at. I do have a Switch that a friend gave me after he upgraded to the OLED Switch. I played a good bit on that, I've brought it on trips but it I rarely ever actually used it for some reason. Not even on the flight. I think for me, overall the user interface and experience just isn't as good.

I brought the Steamdeck with me on a weekend trip, 3 hour flight. I actually played games on it at the airport and the entire flight! Mostly Dredge and Ori. I know those aren't the most demanding games but at the end of the flight I still had 50% battery left!

I did bring a compact travel charger and USB cable for it just in case. I was worried about how the size of the Steamdeck because it typically travel with just a large ~32L backpack. I bought the case for it they use "lid" that snaps on the front. Ended up not being an issue at all.

Anyway, just wanted to share my first experience with it. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it... I figured out on the flight that holding the 3-dot button and the left thumbstick can control screen brightness!
