Madoka Magica Compilation Film's TV Edition, and question about Anilist (piefed.zip)

So I watched the first episode of Madoka Magica Compilation Films' TV Edition the other day and noticed there is no entry on anilist for it. I guess nobody's got around to adding it yet?

The episodes are cut and named differently from the TV series so the previous entry doesn't work well for looking this one up.

Just curious how anilist handles series that has been updated and released a 2nd time. Can somebody think of other examples?

I haven't watched the compilation movies, and it was a long time since last time I watched the TV series, so I find it refreshing for a rewatch.

It is also being broadcast with audio commentary from the Comedian Kano Eiko, which caused a buzz since he hasn't watched the series before and people are reacting to his reactions on SNS. Examples of things he said:

"I turned down the offer to do this commentary at first because I thought a Magical Girl show's not for me, a 40-something old guy" (Staff convinced him adults can enjoy this show too)

"So, this is Madoka. Which one is Magica?"

"Okay, so the transfer student (Homura, before she introduces herself) must be Magica."

I think you're right here, it doesn't look like anyone has gotten around to adding it yet, or it may have been an oversight.

I'm mostly just familiar with MAL and bakaupdates, but the way those two sites would track this would be to have a unique entry since it's different enough from the original show.

That's good to hear that you find it refreshing! I haven't watched the movies either, but Madoka has always been one of my favorite series.

That's really cool that the broadcast comes with Kano Eiko's commentary as well, and the fact that he's coming in fresh to the series‽ That sounds hilarious lol
