i’d rather get one of these than a kindle…

For sure, and since it's just running Android, you can even get kindle app on it, along with side loading and any other store you might want to use.

I have one for a few years and I'm quite satisfied with it. As long as you really need an e-ink tablet, boox is the way to go.

Unusual shoutout, but Meebook is also very interesting they have an e-ink phone-sized handheld tablet that runs Android, it's like $140. Not sure how much work people on, say, MobileRead have done with that, but background internet connectivity on par with a cheaper phone and a tiny form factor are more interesting to me than a larger device and color display since custom launchers and other software for these things is well-established already.

We got a Note Air 3C like 2-ish years ago for my girlfriend and admittedly, she loves it. Uses it for notes and reading.

However, you can't deny, it is so so expensive, especially for like balkan salaries.

Now, only thing I am worried about is how it'll age. You know Android and the battery..

they seem cool but damn i they're still too expensive for me, kinda want to upgrade from the PocketBook basic lux 3 i got is on it's last legs (don't recommend) but it was $99, the cheapest Boox Go 6 model is $150.

I have a Rakuten device and it's decent in terms of feel and build but the OS/UX implementation is really poor. My next ereader will probably be a Boox.
