9. No link shorteners.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

A catapult is wholly insufficient for such a beast, you would need a replica of the war wolf trebuchet or the Dardanelles Gun.

I'm trying to imagine what the yard looks like growing that thing.
Like it normally does but with a big ol' pumpkin in it.

I wonder if we grew them on a greenhouse at the top of a mountain in Peru if they'd retain shape better?
Gravity is clearly winning, so take them to the place with the least gravity.
Or a species that was acclimated to India's stronger gravity, grown in a place with less.
Even at the top of Mount Everest gravity is only 9.77 m/s^2 as compared to 9.81 m/s^2 at sea level. I doubt it would have a noticeable effect.
Hear me out: orbital pumpkins
Then you find out the effects no gravity has on a plant that evolved with it. Pretty sure they've planted seeds in 0g and they couldn't germinate "up". Gravity plays a role in how they develop.
Some spin grav during the first stages life. 0g when they get too massive
Might be easier to just gently spin them on Earth after germination to help spread the weight evenly as it grows.
Then we drop them from space to feed the poor cooked pumpkin when it lands
