Seeing that I now only have a steamdeck and a linux PC, they won't be getting any business from me.

Expected, rootkit based anti cheat :) waiting for pirated version
Oh no.
Anyway,
I was semi-excited for BF6, but no linux is no go. This will probably be the last decent BF ever. 😔
At least we're in agreement not to do any business then.
Does BF6 have a single player campaign worth pirating?
I think the more interesting/concerning aspect is:
EA have spent the past year or so rapidly disabling linux access for past Battlefield games (Allegedly 3 worked as of July but I vaguely remember that not being true anymore). EA have also been working to be bought out by some of the worst people on the planet.
And a common thing with acquisitions like that is some of that "why would they do that?" starts making sense. So... yeah.
Yawns
Is the franchise still popular nowadays?
Apparently BF6 is a rebound after 2042 being a flop. It's not like it's in the "Top 30 franchises ever", but it's apparently popular.
The open beta was a lot of fun, with call of duty being what it is and the rest of the FPS scene seeming to go super bombastic colorful / flashy or .. Overwatch and its clones, my millennial buddies and I are excited for it. My eyes can’t handle the excitement of the other games.
I’m the only PC player in my group, and my gaming pc is only used for gaming and sits in a DMZ. So. They can rootkit away, but it does suck generally that this is the state of anti cheat.
The beta for this was excellent for players that got into the series at 3 or 4. Unfortunately EA got bought by some shady private equity so I will have to pass
