At first, I didn’t really enjoy SteamOS, with prior experience of Linux on a desktop pc being not so enjoyable. Then I got a Steam Deck sometime down the line and tried SteamOS. At first I didn’t enjoy it. Then I decided to install windows on it, things were going smoothly as I thought it would. Enjoyed playing some BF1/5 and some other anti-cheat games like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: MWII DMZ. Then I realised just how irritating it is to navigate all of windows without a keyboard and mouse. Brought a third party dock (made sure it was a well known brand) and got a Keyboard and Mouse lent to me by a family member. Things went “smoother” but I felt like I was missing out on a lot of performance. So I said to myself ”hey I’m sure SteamOS is better now, I’ll give it one last try” and went back. Now after experiencing both Windows and SteamOS on the deck and staying on it for a while I am proud to call SteamOS my new home. 😁

Now I just need to hope that Valve gives up the option to install this OS on non AMD hardware pcs in the future ;)
