[–] Malkhodr@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Only 5 years away! This time for real!

No but seriously there is a joke in the nuclear community that "Fusion is only 15 years away, and it's been like that for 50 years." So it's great to see the curse finally broken.

What I would give to work at a Chinese fusion power plant... or any fusion power plant for that matter.

I guess my most "labor-aristocrat" opinion is that I want a revolution in the US within my lifetime just scientific/industrial advancement in my field won't be stunted anymore my capitalism.

So now we will have to deal with fusion being only 5 years away for the next 15 years xd

🤞after those 15 then hopefully it'll be 1 away for 10 years.

Is there any information about the breakthrough that makes the rusion power generation

feasable?(Generate more power than you consume)

I read this as being a step in the assembly of a fusion powerplant as such, but I don't know

what is so special about it.So it doesn't remain

Just 5 years away!

(As you all have pointted out)

Any further info we could have?
