Your hotel room seems to be missing some walls.

[–] fuzzywombat@lemmy.world 69 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

That's not a bed. That's a buffet table for mosquitos.

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

Shows how much you get out of the United States there’s no way that isn’t covered with mosquito netting

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

And an open invitation to be robbed, kidnapped or worse

[–] paperazzi@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

I think I'd really love this.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 20 points 7 hours ago

There's no way that doesn't smell musty.

I like how they left you towels, just in case a big wave soaks you while you sleep.

[–] fubarx@lemmy.world 131 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

Welcome, fellow travelers. I'll be your tour guide.

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

They'll be using mosquito spirals, they're really effective.

[–] slaacaa@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

So efficient. You can donate bloodn while sleeping

[–] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 7 points 7 hours ago

Yeah, I was thinking "I hope they left you a mosquito net!"

This is the fucking dream. Would need a mosquito net, obviously, but otherwise this sounds absolutely amazing.

Does anyone have a link to this cruise?

[–] Quilotoa@lemmy.ca 15 points 6 hours ago

This is the company we went with. The conditions were a bit basic, but the food was awesome and the river was one of the best experiences in my life. https://www.orangutanapplause.com/

I don’t know if it’s unbelievable good or unbelievable bad from the title.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 53 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Having gone through their post history, they're generally very appreciative of simple things and beautiful sights, so I'd assume unbelievably good =)

[–] Quilotoa@lemmy.ca 13 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

You are correct. I can't believe we actually did it. (We're back now.)

[–] slaacaa@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

As long as you had fun, nothing else mattress

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 18 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Wholesome internet stalking

(I use the word "stalking" in jest. I am amused because usually when one has cause to "stalk" a user's post history, it's because there's some drama or dirt that turns up. I always feel awkward and a bit vulnerable when I reflect on how people can peruse your post history at will, but I find the wholesomeness of this subverts the anxiety I usually feel at this prospect. It's scary that we can quickly find enough to summarise a person's online presence, but "generally very appreciative of simple things and beautiful sights" is a lovely thing to be, and makes me wonder how I would come across at a glance. Good, I hope — because it turns out that it is possible to have positive conversations with internet strangers)

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Ironic that you should mention dirt and drama in one's post history when you're the same person who posted this:

What is your favourite autumn soup?

The important thing these days is: it must be Instagram worthy. That's all that matters.

[–] EfreetSK@lemmy.world 47 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago) (1 children)

You could say that's all that mattress? ... I..I show myself out

[–] Railcar8095@lemmy.world 20 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

You did good. You can stay

[–] Monster96@lemmy.world 9 points 6 hours ago

No, that pun was sheet

[–] tpyo@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Ugh... Right.... Today I was at a place with my partner and a group of younger (not as in young, just younger than us) girls behind us. They were talking about some place they were familiar with and how cute it was, how they hadn't been there in so long

"That's like the most instagramable place ever!" I swear I could see the back of my skull, that's how hard my eyes rolled

Told my partner, "I guess we judge places by how instagram worthy they are.." Their reply, "so cringe"

Might want to get a mosquito net.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 40 points 11 hours ago (5 children)

That's the least of their worries! They might want to get an orangutan net! They can come right in. That's an orangutan bed if they wanted it, not their bed.

100% humidity + bugs + windy. It's a no from me.

[–] nightofmichelinstars@sopuli.xyz 13 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Also the absolute lack of privacy. It's like having a Facebook account.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 35 minutes ago

Perfect analogy of what a facebook account really is.

In fact, it is quite believable imho

[–] UnRelatedBurner@sh.itjust.works 59 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

They’re course and rough.

And they get everywhere

[–] JoShmoe@ani.social 44 points 12 hours ago (5 children)
