Nice. That should take care of it. Thank god we have such fearless leaders.

What exactly do you expect the minority party to do about it?
Wait til they get outlawed of course. What else could they possibly do?
You still didn't specify anything that's within their power.
I ask again, specifically what can a minority party in Congress do to address the problem besides publicly condemning it?
Edit: if you disagree with me, it would be nice if you could actually answer my question instead of down voting. But I suspect it's because you don't have an actual rebuttal because there's absolutely nothing within the bounds of their power that they can do.
"We've done nothing and we're all out of ideas."
There's nothing they can do outside of publicly condemning the actions.
Again, I ask, what exactly do you want them to do? What specifically is within the power of a congressional party that doesn't hold the majority that would be more effective?
Edit: if you disagree with me, it would be nice if you could actually answer my question instead of down voting. But I suspect it's because you don't have an actual rebuttal.
I'm not a politician or political consultant. These people are supposed to be good at their jobs so they should come up with something, but here goes:
First of all they need to get rid of Jefferies and Schumer. They are both horrible communicators who can't even begin to match Trump's charisma. I'm not sure who in the house, Sanders is the obvious senate leader. Insane they don't have anyone younger and more dynamic but there we are.
Secondly, they need to define a positive vision for the future of this country. The only person doing that right now is Mamdami. They need to embrace his style of politics and contrast themselves with the Republicans as a party of optimism with ideas.
Thirdly, they need to start fighting tactically with Trump. The democrats are currently freaking out because the Republicans are going to force a vote honoring Charlie Kirk. What the democrats should do is
- table an amendment altering the resolution to honor Kirk, the Hortmans, and all victims of political violence
- table an amendment to honor the children killed in Colorado and all school shootings this year
- table an amendment outlawing the granting of military honors to civilians who never served
Force the republicans to vote each of those down, then vote against the resolution saying that the Republicans aren't serious about combating violence and also (by the way) dishonor our troops.
I know military members and point number 3 is a serious fault in Trump's coalition that should be exploited.
They also need to condemn Israel's actions in Gaza understanding that 80 percent of democrats and at least 40 percent of Republicans would be with them.
Fourth they need to go after Trump's Media crackdown using every lever they have. Hold hearings, etc. In particular they need to focus on Sinclair Broadcasting and its nextstar merger.
Finally, they need to have a laser focus on putting together an all-star winning plan going into the midterms, they need to focus on base energy and turnout. They need to start building their ground game now, understanding that Trump will likely take control of the media and social media. They should be putting together alternate grasroots communication networks and figuring out how to get the word out. Again, they need to quit with the machine politics and focus on finding the best candidates who can win elections not whoever's turn it is. They should dust off Howard Dean's old "50 state" strategy and quit trying to force creeply glowies like Slotkin on us.
Hunger strikes? Self emulation?
I think you mean immolation. And that's a pretty ridiculous ask.
Bring impeachment proceedings against him. Let's start making Republicans vote to keep these morons in power. At the very least it'd tie up the house for a couple weeks.
If you don't have the votes to impeach and remove someone, then it's no different than a sternly written letter. Trump has been impeached twice and look where we are.
The Republicans have an consistent history of voting to keep these morons in power. Like 100% on board every single time. Making them prove it for the thousandth time won't make the cult finally care.
It's about delaying until 2026 imho
They brought a statement to a gun fight
I never really understood the "x politician demands y official resign". I'm not old, but old enough. I've never seen this amount to anything, ever. What's the point?
It teases the water for potential allies, determining political will etc
If Official Y does something and senator A makes public calls for their resignation and all that happens is a few headlines. Then they might think now is not the right time to push for something more serious.
Now if senator A makes that public call, and all of a sudden he's got a whole bunch of politicians joining in on his calls after and headline after headline, then they'll have a good idea on what to do next
But it can also be just a cop out, something to say "I did something"
Bets on how long before he says that Jimmy Kimmel was right to be fired and call for bipartisanship?
ETA: Dude supporting and pushing for Charlie Kirk day with Republicans. Shithead didn't even last a day.
Step 1) run the democracy into the ground
Step 2) act like you didn't mean it
Step 3) can you contribute $5 to my seat?
