The economy is so cooked that the proposed solution is “what if we just… stopped looking at it”

Like the COVID numbers: if you don't test, then there are no numbers.

And the weather and environmental data. And the SEC tracking trading fraud. And the IRS tracking billionaire tax cheats. And the FDA tracking contaminated food products. And the CDC tracking anything to do with women's health.

If you hide ALL the problems, everything is perfect

That's his 86 IQ, working overtime.

Some true 4 dimensional checkers

Literally the first thing that sprang to mind. I remember this exact line of thinking from one of his previous fuck ups.

Wow. I would say, "Who would be stupid enough to not see what a desperate attempt this is, to hide the damage he's doing to the economy?"...but, yeah.

"If you don't report the bad news it isn't bad news."

[–] Davel23@fedia.io 17 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I'm sure shareholders would love that.

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Shareholders don’t care. They just go by vibes either way

As long as the coke and victims keep coming. Otherwise they vent/get passive aggressive on whatever media platform they own.

Oh, so that's how he killed his own businesses. Let's scale it up, what could go wrong?

Lol publicly traded companies literally can't. So he's asking for people to blindly invest in America companies without seeing the numbers. Scamming 101

Good news! Chocolate rations have gone up to 20g a week

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 9 points 5 days ago

Gee... That bad, huh?

[–] otterpop@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

While likely not even close to the intention, moving away from short term profits and allowing companies to focus more long term would be a positive step in the right direction in my opinion.

🪄 Don't listen to the leading indicators that the economy is tanking. 🪄

They literally included an archive link.

[–] Ep1cFac3pa1m@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Missed the link, thanks!

[–] comrade_twisty@feddit.org 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Found the person who believes elections are free and fair.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

There's no way they'll go for that cuz they're addicted to quarterly profit reports, but honestly I think it's a good idea in the long run. God knows half the companies in this country lose their mind every 3 months and sabotage the rest of the year if not decade because of it. The other half don't even wait for 3 months.
