Carney a disappointment in terms of US/alternative relations progress, but somehow economic forecasts for Canada are better than the US.

It’s a growth driver. They don’t care if it actually amounts to something as long as it causes high tech data center and startup investments. The same as housing - they don’t care as long as housing is driving jobs and material sales. If the prices of houses instantly halve, suddenly everyone will be in favor of building more houses, to keep economic growth the same.

I think it's easier to ship resources elsewhere than find traded partners while trying to strong arm everyone at the same time, and while trying to deport large segments of your workforce.
