The description of the bird starts out by saying that it’s very trusting, and will often perch on passers-by. Checks out, I guess!

Compared to birds, almost all humans are colorblind.

Most humans have 3 working types of colour receptors that roughly correspond to red, green, and blue. A small number of people have a fourth, letting them see colours we can't even conceive of. My friend has this and it makes me jealous.
