not welcome visitors to our country

Good, I'm not welcome in Qatar, Pakistan, or North Korea either, but I live a happy life.

They seem perfectly fine stunting on Charlie Kirk.

I guess some countries still have freedom.

Glorify violence and hatred... like Charlie Kirk? Oh, and yourselves?

He wouldn't have wanted this!

"I think empathy is a made-up, New Age term that does a lot of damage" - Charlie Kirk

Which has me really conflicted. It's a really awful fashy thing to do, buuut it also makes a mockery of his memory...

May he rot in piss.

PS: To any US officials reading this, don't worry, I have no intention of going anywhere near your shitty hell hole of a country

Quote him a week ago and they would applaud.

Quote him now, they want to lock you up.

Good thing my ancestors arrived on the Mayflower.

I'd like y'all to take a moment of silence.

Pause to reflect on all the lives saved by the elimination of this source of radicalization from our youth.

A stronger argument for common sense gun laws could hardly be made than the video of blood and brains gushing out the side of his head.

He and his family deserve all the compassion and empathy he expressed towards the children of Uvalde.

The gun was an old Mauser 30.06 bolt action, about the last thing a gun ban would restrict.

[–] Lumisal@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You sure it's a Mauser and not a Springfield?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Was I wrong? I read Mauser somewhere in the intial reports. In any case, 30.06 is a fucking cannon of a shell, whatever rifle it comes out of. :)

Yeah, it's for hunting moose and Nazis (most are WW2 era)

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 days ago

yes this is a totally normal and appropriate response to any old large influencer being killed for unknown reasons

[–] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I guess it’s up to us Americans to do it for them then.

No better way to honour someone who, as much as I dislike him, consistently argued government should not restrict speech and different opinions, no matter how repugnant.

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Oh, someone forgot to unfurl the rest of the amendment's parchment with Sharpie writing, apparently:

...but the President can make any decree respecting the establishment of religion, prohibiting the exercise of other religions, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, for any reason the Government finds convenient.

I never thought I'd hear a positive school shooting story come out of the USA... is that 'light' enough to be banned from the Fascist States of America
