A staffer in the Justice Department said in a secretly recorded video that the department would redact any Republican names from its investigative files on the late sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

The administration has been funneling the Epstein files to Capitol Hill in a supposed show of transparency, but only liberals’ names will remain visible, the staffer said.

“If they’re released in any way, it’s going to be very redacted. They’ll redact every Republican or conservative person in those files, leave all the liberal Democratic people in those files,” Joseph Schnitt, acting deputy chief of the DOJ’s Office of Enforcement Operations, says in the video.

They’re Nazis. Every moral choice will be the wrong one until they’re incapacitated from making any moral choices at all.

That does solve any decision making capacity them might have.

At this point, a ‘gotcha’ won't save democracy or upheave the current political structure. A video of Trump fucking a ten year old and then killing them would change nothing. More than words are needed at this point.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

Yeah, how many times have we seen the media report what Trump did that is meant to shock us, and yet he has been elected twice.

[–] humanoidchaos@lemmy.cif.su 4 points 1 day ago

That's what identity politics gets us.

Republicans support trump because they genuinely view democrats the way we view republicans. Both parties are to blame for this, because they focus on gridlock issues that will never change to distract from the class war.

It's a two-pronged strategy, and you should start looking at anyone who is "gung-ho" for a candidate from either party as a useful idiot.

ah Watergate, the scandal that was so big it became a word for scandals in general all over the world is so fucking tame by this orange fuck's standards it's not even funny.

[–] bigbabybilly@lemmy.world 7 points 21 hours ago

I can just imagine all the insufferable fucking ‘I told you so’ magats all over social media…

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Please, can we get OKeefe more coverage and attention?

Now that his narrative is the one I want, I fully believe everything he has to say. Let's raise him up as much as we can.

Huffpost and Axios should be ashamed for covering it. Nothing OKeefe says is worth reporting. His videos are faked or deceptively edited more often than not, but now we're gonna take this one as news?

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 day ago

Yeah the fact that this is an O'Keefe video means you can immediately correctly assume it's trash. I love shitting on Republicans as much as the next guy, but it's disingenuous to report on one of his videos like it contains anything factual.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Yeah that was kind of a given since they had an entire FBI office going over them instead of real work. And the fact it’s September and we still have duck all.

I reckon that’s why Kash and Bongino look like that. They’ve seen the files.

[–] blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago

This person thinks they're being a tough guy but really they're just admitting to diddling kids themselves

[–] Nyadia@piefed.blahaj.zone 26 points 1 day ago (5 children)

On the one hand this sounds entirely plausible, and I more or less kinda expected them to do this already. On the other hand, the source for this story is fucking Project Veritas

[–] testfactor@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

Add to that if you actually read the guys statement, it doesn't read like someone with insider information. It's much more like, "oh, yeah, of course they're gonna do that. Have you been watching the crap this administration is doing? I'd be shocked if they didn't."

Which, like, he's not wrong, but doesn't sound like the comment of a guy who has some deep insider knowledge. Sounds like a dude who's just kinda ranting about the current state of the government and politics. Most government employees I know aren't exactly thrilled with how things are going.

[–] ganksy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

James fucking O’Keefe!! Ok it's bullshit.

[–] paraphrand@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Gross. That probally means this was done just to cloud the fucking conversation.

The right have learned that bullshit storms can be used for cover.

[–] futuresdumb@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I watched the source https://xcancel.com/jamesokeefeiii/status/1963617871281438731?s=46 there are more cuts than in a butcher shop and when he says they'll remove Republicans from the list, that's what he says "the list" and they subtitle it "the [Epstein] list"

Fully plausible, but the source is literally the boy who cried wolf.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Those guys are so good at getting gullible partisans to report bullshit.

[–] bacon_pdp@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I am surprised that they are not adding the names of anti-Trump politicians to cement power for their regime

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

They definitely are.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

So... the edited list will just be a bunch of people who can corroborate that specific members of the republican party were on Epstein Island to fuck kids, even if their name wasn't explicitly in the files? I don't think this plan was very well thought out.

[–] GrammarPolice@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago

They'll just dismiss it as "conspiracy by the dems"

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

It has been months since they unleashed thousands of FBI staff to censor any republican names on the list. So when Trump gives the go for the release, it will only be implicating people he does not like. And he will come out of it stronger as the releaser of the files and holder of his promises. It is probably already too late.

[–] stickly@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Can someone explain how we might get anything close to a legitimate release of this evidence? There's no oversight now that the administration has gutted every department. Can they not just stall as long as they want while they forge some fake documents that incriminate political opponents?

[–] hactar42@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

There is a good chance the entire government network is comprised thanks to DOGE. I've just been wait for someone to get access and leak it.

[–] Garbagio@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

Idk. I think it's gonna get weird before it gets good. Doge existing already compromised networks, in the sense that we had grossly unqualified people without clearance or training in these systems. They've been quiet since April, so I personally believe they abandoned their head-ass effort to switch from COBOL to fucking JavaScript. If they're going to give it all to palantir, however, say what you will but Thiel hires the best network professionals in the industry. My personal bet is one of the doge boys is going to brag in some discord chat that he stole an entire state's birth record so he could wish his crush Happy Birthday.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Lmao there is no single “government network“

[–] hactar42@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

Sorry, the entire collection of government networks. Or at least the DOJ, IRS, HHS, and everywhere else they installed their own systems at. I figured it was obvious what I meant.

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I have said it before, no use hoping for/expecting a full unedited release of the epstein files.
(but I fully encourage continuous demands for it, to let them know it will not be forgotten and they can not get away with it without repercussions later on)

The maga republicans will never release an original and untampered file. It will bring lasting damage to trump, their current election power, and most of all it jeopardizes project 2025 greatly.

Project 2025 is here to stay and no threat to it will be tolerated.

They will keep releasing edited/incomplete documents, hoping a complete version never surfaces (but hidden documents/videos are most likely out there, it is almost tangible in the air how fearful some are that more info will surface)

But added to that, the Democrats currently at the top also will not allow the full files to be released and will thwart efforts where they can.

This will be the 2000's version of the JFK assassination files for a long time to come.

[–] TwinTitans@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Oh? I’m completely surprised!

Pedophile Protectors.

It's always acceptable for workers to kill rulers. They kill and rape us every day, including our children, with impunity.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 1 points 1 day ago

I wonder if “democratic” was misspoken
