I’m under the impression that Hamas has offered the hostages multiple times to Israel and they get turned down.

Yes they absolutely have offered to return the hostages on several occasions, and always with the condition that Israel stops attacking.

Basically Hamas would like things to go back to the way things were before October 7th, when they could just pick off a few Israeli citizens at a time without the massive genocidal retaliation.

Yeah, Israel was already killing lots of Palestinians yearly before the Oct 7 attacks. It’s weird seeing people act like everything was peaceful before Oct 7.

After Oct 7 Israel switched from regular targeted strikes against Hamas to all out Palestinian genocide.

The IDF just claimed that everyone they killed was Hamas. They’re not well known for their honesty.

They joined Hamas right before death

The IDF in those days claimed they were ‘targeting’ Hamas, and then the collateral damage was always discovered and reported by someone else. The change after Oct 7 was that instead of claiming to aim for Hamas and killing everyone, they’re clearly just aiming for everyone.
