What is a Tankie?

Basic Rules:

Hate-Speech — You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.

Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.

Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.

Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.

Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in argument.

Brigading — If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from voting, commenting or manipulating the post in any way. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be permanently banned.

You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

Ah yes, the online encyclopedia, that doesn't justify the Russian invasion of Ukraine under the same grounds Israel uses to justify its Gaza genocide. Both Palestinians and Ukrainians are called "nazis", both nations atrocities they suffer are called "false flags commited onto themselves, to garner sympathy". I wonder where did Putin and his band learned this tactic from.

"Be respectful" can mean "agree with me" especially amongst the Left. Seems to be getting worse.

Right Wing love throwing blatant insults around. They used to be into casual bigotry.

And the centrists tend to be bigots without the balls to say so.

To be fair there’s a bit of nuance like Winnie the Pooh isn’t outright banned you can buy merch and stuff in China. But obviously anything that has a whiff of Xi criticism is straight to jail, so in that sense many instances of Winnie the Pooh used in ways that could signal dissent is very much surveilled and cracked down upon.

In any case Dessalines being a power tripping ML censor as usual.

I known of linuxmemes, but no general topic ones.

I have a ton of old ones (mid-2000s) I used to post on Antique Memes Roadshow, but the mod there doesn't seem to understand that 'Cock goes where?' memes were the low bar at the time.

I even attempted to add a disclaimer that the memes were from a time when being PC all the time, especially online, was not even considered. None of them were NSFW or offensive to any particular group, but I'd be happy to share.
