I'm looking for a certain app, that looks like it has been unpublished from GP. Googling points to a bunch of sites that I know nothing about and that could be full of stuff.

Any recommendations on good sites to do this?

For anyone curious, I'm trying to download Lightbot and others apps from the same developer aiming at teaching programming to kids.

APKMirror and APKPure have worked well for me in the past, never seemed to have an issue with malicious modifications.

f-droid for FOSS apps.

edit: misclick. I meant this as a reply to the OP.

In this case, it's not foss, it's an unpublished app, so the case is more akin to piracy

You can set up a VM using VirtualBox with x86 android and try the apks you find online till you get a working one, but a lot of apps are just a iframe to a website.

It's also possible that the app is delisted because it hasn't been updated for too long to support your device.

But anything that's not an official source can't be guaranteed to be malware free.
