I guess that would be one of the main causes, if you just ignore the actual mass-slaughtering of civilians...
Of course antisemitism (ie. hatred towards Jews) has absolutely nothing to do with either supporting or opposing the nation of Israel (its existence in general, and the crimes perpetrated by its current government in particular), and even less has antisemitism to do with recognizing Palestine or not.
Those poor neo-nazis whose delicate sensibilities are torn between their antisemitism and their sympathy for the Israeli government (which I guess are the only ones who still listen to Netanyahu's lies?) can rest easy: the two sentiments are perfectly compatible.
You donβt get to be the victim of genocide and then get a get out of jail free card for engaging in genocide of another people.

And yet the "claim" is still reasoned with and put in headlines.
If Macron is just buying time for the Fascists by holding off from actually stopping them (like, don't send weapons to them anymore, put sanctions on them and even use French military power to force through mass delivery of food aid to Gaza) as French public opinion wants, then it makes total sense for him and Netanyahu "exchange accusations" in the French press, to sell the idea that what Macron is doing is in fact putting pressure on Israel, which it's not and it's not meant to be.
When putting on a show for the French Public Opinion to project the impression that Macron is indeed putting pressure on Israel (even though he's not really doing that, since France keeps on sending them weapons), it makes total sense to have "loudly bitching & moaning" "responses" from Netanyahu broadly advertised in France, and for that they need to get front-page coverage in French newspapers and prime slots in French TV News segments.
Macron and Netanyahu doing some cooperative performative bullshit to hold off the pressure from French public opinion for something effective to actually be done to stop Israel, rather than starting by not sending weapons to Israel anymore and applying sanctions on them.
The real aim of this performance is to distract and confuse the public and give the Zionists time to finish their "final solution".
It's an old neoliberal trick to keep on supporting Fascists: when things are so bad that public opinion has turned against the Fascists, announce a totally ineffective action as if it's some great pushback against the Fascists, have the Fascists loudly bitch and moan about it (with a wink and a nod) all the while de facto buying time for the Fascists to keep on murdering and get more gains for themselves and, of course, afterwards there will be no actual reversion of the gains of the Fascists, much less punishing them, afterwards.
The next stage will be some kind of "It's too late now" talk coming from Macron.
