I was raised by narcissistic and reactionary parents with drug and alcohol problems, so I learned real fast to keep my mouth shut at all times.
It got so severe that I was non-verbal for much of my childhood, and my grandparents thought something was wrong with me so they took me to doctors for all kinds of crazy, primitive brain scans and tests.
I turned it around 180-degrees after growing up and getting out on my own and learning how to socialize and be tactful and learned how to read people and engage in small-talk and the social games we all play. It wasn't until only recently after being alive nearly a half century that I was in fact diagnosed as on the autistic spectrum.
Life is funny.
