Shouldn't porn games be preferred to actual porn? Less risk of women being sexually exploited when making software?

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 40 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They don't actually care about that. Stop humoring their excuses. They're just prudes.

[–] mang0@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

True. The group pressuring the payment companies were originally a christian group. They can indeed be very prude

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Their co-founder likes Cuties

Yeah it's important to note that being prudish is almost as much as a smoke screen as being feminist (almost I'm sure they are actually puritans as well); their actual goal is to shut down discussion of abuse against women and children. They want to end anything that might empower them to say no, or prompt the discussion that does so. Otherwise they wouldn't try to get once human pulled from steam for it's depiction of domestic abuse.

Nothing good is allowed to happen ever again.

Transcriptnickyflowers: It would be cool if websites let you be an adult on them. The advertisers and payment processors need everything to be Family Friendly though their definitions of family and friendly are absolutely fucked. But since they're in charge of the Internet now, no one is allowed to be an adult. TikTokers say things like "unalive" and "seggs" because they know death and sex are too adult for online. Online is for idiot babies only now because they're easier to market to.

nickyflowers: Oh I'm sorry you're a trans adult? Super ban. You are super banned for life. You have upset Visa's feelings. Mastercard is throwing up in the corner. How could you do this to Google Ads?

It's really awesome when a group from a foreign country and a foreign religion gets a dictate how I as an American I'm allowed to purchase legal products in my nation.

[–] Heavybell@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

I don't like it either and they're from my country. I also don't like when America exports its bullshit either, mind you.

[–] datavoid@lemmy.ml 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't play porn games.. but fuck america

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Supposedly the organization pressuring the payment companies are actually Australian, but it's mostly a fuck hypocritical Christians moment.

[–] datavoid@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 month ago

Fair.

Imma leave that fuck america out there anyways though 🙂

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Apparently they're a feminist organization not a Christian one

[–] shani66@ani.social 6 points 1 month ago

They're a conservative Christian organization.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I thought I read it was both, but either way it's good not to assume it's always American. The whole world is problematic at times.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago

Christianity is inherently anti-feminist. It’s right there in the book they bash so much.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 month ago

Fuck religious people who don’t mind their own business.

Great way to make people start pirating games again. Just like movies and series saw a huge rise is pirating recently.

Its almost as if pissing people off has the opposite effect of what you want it.

[–] Katana314@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Itch.io is how independent games are funded, not just distributed.

If you pirate what few NSFW games exist, you’re not likely to see any more, even on even more niche platforms.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 6 points 4 weeks ago

It's mostly incest games, but the thing about the slippery slope fallacy is it's not a fallacy when they have a stated intention to keep pushing.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 weeks ago

The only way to fight this is to show you're spending more money than those idiots no? Would be fun if Steam and Itch.io made some numbers public to shut down those prudes.
