Google is an American compamy, please understand that they can't fathom speaking multiple languages

What other languages? It's AMERICAN or savagery. I don't speak savage.

Since like a month ago youtube started auto translating to english videos that are in my language (spanish) and translating to spanish videos in english.

I refuse to watch auto dubbed videos. This is the dumbest "feature" I saw in a while. And the voice quality is also terrible.

And it doesn't even matter what settings I choose. Either videos in are translated into english or, when I decide to set the account to english, it randomly translates videos in my native language into english which makes no fucking sense. Just give me an option to opt-out of your brainless fuckery.

That's the thing that surprises me the most.

There are some great open source TTS engines/models out there, and they decide to go with Microsoft SAM.

Is that an "Americans are big tech's guinea pigs" kind of thing? I still didn't get any video ruined by a dubbing AI.

I’m German and my YouTube shorts feed has both English and German Videos. Still sometimes it auto translates German Videos into English without asking me if I wanted that feature.

I don’t get it - the algorithm should see that I view videos in both languages and still it sometimes auto translates videos from my native language to English.

Ugh
Luckily I only had auto translated titles so far (which are bad enough). Can't wait for the day to be blessed with auto translated videos too.
