Just dreaming of having one of these things built next to the TransCanada Highway so every carbrain driving the distance will periodically see a train scream past them and disappear into the distance. xi-plz

If I can indulge the teenage lib me: if Canada wants to start being distinct from America, if they built a HSR that’s a great way to start. All it needs is to be from Windsor to Quebec City, with maybe a stop at Niagara Falls to rub it in to the yanks.

Americans are Americans: good political ideas and infrastructure aren’t just something they disagree with, they’re literally alien to Americans.

I am cautiously optimistic they might actually build that Windsor to QC line

Step 1. Find a way to move to Canada.

Step 2. Start conversations about how Canada can more distinct itself from Amerikkka. Even if it plays into liberals ideas of “we shall be what American libs think America is”.

Step 3. Just respond to all prejudice with “What are we, a bunch of stupid Americans?” Bully the fuck out of every hog by calling them stupid Americans.

Step 4. Get all this good infrastructure going, the HSR. Hydro-Quebec is now a pride of the nation and its success can be replicated in other provinces.

It’s funny looking back. Maybe I’m still a lib deep down but as a leftist, sometimes I think I want certain western countries to succeed more than its so-called “patriots”.

I thought the 350km/h speed limit was for safety reasons

They run their high speed EMUs 50km/h under design speed. So this is designed for 450 but will run at 400
