Can't get my head around it! Best guess is that this is the sort of thing our mom's fed us for summer lunches.

That guy should replace his MacBook battery, it’s getting swollen…
That’s just a fisheye effect from the camera lens. The batteries in that MacBook are under the palm rest/trackpad.
Not a Macbook (Windows key is a dead giveaway), looks like a Dell. And if that is the case, very high chance the battery is actually under the track-pad, and that curvature near the middle is just how it is shaped.
Looks like Lenovo to me. The key caps are pretty usual Lenovo stuff.

Soggy crisps are really an acquired taste though.
I have the same company issued laptop. I hate these pos machines. Already replaced 3 times due to the battery capacity hitting sub 70
