Being part of the Eastern bloc really did a number on some people. Having grown up in one of those countries, it's wild how little idea the anti-communists there have about how their country used to work or even what communism or socialism are. For many that I know, communism is when you can't buy The Beatles albums. The vanguard parties dropped the ball educting people intentionally or unintentionally.
