Metadata embedded in the video and analyzed by WIRED and independent video forensics experts shows that rather than being a direct export from the prison’s surveillance system, the footage was modified, likely using the professional editing tool Adobe Premiere Pro. The file appears to have been assembled from at least two source clips, saved multiple times, exported, and then uploaded to the DOJ’s website, where it was presented as “raw” footage.

Farid points to another anomaly: The video’s aspect ratio shifts noticeably at several points. “Why am I suddenly seeing a different aspect ratio?” he asks.

The raw Epstein footage did not kill itself.

Isn't there a cut in the middle?

People say it has a minute of footage missing, I think

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 22 points 1 day ago

Yep, it skips forward slightly over a minute right before midnight.

I am absolutely shocked beyond belief... that they used Adobe software.

i think they said something about color grading to make it more clear etc. was there two sets of footage released and was this the supposedly raw one or is it just one video?

They say a lot of things. There's no reason to believe them

Who color grades shitty CCTV video? It’s not footage for a movies. I highly doubt the CCTV equipment in prisons are so unbelievably shitty that you need to process it to determine whether or not a person walks into the frame

they released two versions but the "enhanced" one was literally just brightened and sharpened, which is totally pointless and probably contains even less detail than the original because the highlights get blown out and the artifacts become exaggerated. I'm honestly surprised they didn't do some AI "enhancements" (which would have been even dumber of course)

but yeah it seems they're saying even the "raw" version was modified here
