Hey everyone!
Now that we can use Wabbajack directly on the Steam Deck, I’m diving into testing different modlists for Skyrim and Fallout 4 to help others find the best ones that just work on Deck.
If you’re new to modding or just want a modlist that runs out of the box, I can already recommend two great options: • Tuxborn (Skyrim) – Brings Skyrim up to modern standards with upgraded graphics, multiple combat styles (old-school and modern), new companions with full questlines, and several DLC-sized quests. Super immersive and runs well on the Deck. • Life in Ruins (Fallout 4) – A stable, vanilla-plus list with a ton of new content. It enhances visuals, adds quests, and keeps the core Fallout 4 vibe. One of the best Deck-friendly experiences out there.
If you’ve been curious about other modlists but don’t want to spend time testing them on the Deck yourself—that’s where I come in. I’ll be checking out midweight to heavy lists (not full overhaul monsters like Lorerim or Nolvus just yet), and next on my list are: • Lost Legacy (Skyrim) • A Storywealth (Fallout 4)
🔧 I’m running everything directly on the Steam Deck via Wabbajack—no more needing a PC just to copy stuff over! That means my videos and tutorials are made specifically for Deck users.
📺 I also launched a YouTube channel focused on modding Skyrim and Fallout 4 on the Steam Deck, called Deckborn & Vaultmade: ▶️ https://youtube.com/@deckbornvaultmade
Right now, I’m showcasing gameplay from Tuxborn and Life in Ruins, and starting next month I’ll cover two new modlists per month (one Skyrim, one Fallout 4).
📥 I’ll also have full tutorials coming in the next few weeks on how to download and install Tuxborn and Life in Ruins directly on the Steam Deck—no PC required.
👉 Got a modlist you want tested—especially for Fallout 4? Let me know! I already have three lined up for Skyrim, but I’m looking for more Fallout 4 options to feature.
Thanks for checking this out. If you’re into modding on Deck, follow the channel—it’s going to be a fun ride.
