I think this is just a regular dystopia, not a boring dystopia
Do they not understand that Medicaid recipients work? Often full time jobs or even multiple.
When will they have time to labor for farmers? Are they quitting their jobs? In that case they will need at least minimum wage, and farm workers get sub minimum wage, so the food system will collapse due to skyrocketing prices.
This is why we can only get immigrants to do the job in the first place.
Tbf, Lemmy called this as soon as RFK uttered "wellness farms."
This was the plan all along. Them, prisoners, abandoned kids, etc.
FARMING IS SKILLED LABOUR. YOU CANNOT JUST REPLACE THOSE DEPORTED FARM WORKERS WITH ANY RANDOM PEOPLE.
I work on a farm in Canada and holy fucking shit, us local people have NOTHING on the temporary workers coming up from Mexico. They are insanely skilled at what they do!
