In the last year I've been getting back into gaming. I've always been a PC gamer but don't currently have access to hardware that can play anything recent, hence the Steam Deck purchase.

I ended up with the LCD version, didn't go for the OLED as this version was expensive enough for me. So initial thoughts. I looked up the sizes and knew conceptually but seeing it is something else. Even knowing and seeing online how much bigger it is than a switch is different from seeing it in person. The screen looks amazing (that's probably from me playing on my 3DS a lot recently and playing games on super low settings on PC). Not too heavy.

Unfortunately, on setup I got a bug where it tried updating Steam and failed. Rebooted and it crashed. Turned it on again and it's been fine ever since. Not the best first impression though.

Loved the aperture tutorial game, glad they included that. I played a bit of Portal 2 after, one of my favourite games and something I'm super familiar and comfortable with to start. Had a great time. Super excited to keep on playing and thanks to everyone as this sub was super helpful when I was researching.
