Linux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Is anyone working at a FOSS and federated alternative to pornhub?
The problem with the federated model for porn is that it's easier to get away with hosting illegal content.
Using something like PeerTube is potentially even worse because let's say you unknowingly open a video where someone in it looks of age but technically isn't. You as a user help propagate that content while you have it open. You're not just downloading illegal content at that point. You're actively sharing it to new people.
A Foss and federated alternative to onlyfans is more achievable I guess, because pornhub nowadays has to verify the owner of the content.
I wonder how much of this rise is caused by all of the recent state porn bans in the USA. Linux users are overall savvier and more likely able to circumvent the ban
My guess is the increase is due to two factors: Linux based vms scraping PH content to create tensor training models for nsfw AI image generators and individuals in the U.S. visiting behind a vpn that’s registering to the client as a Linux device. I’d visit the link but I’m not behind a vpn.
Under video game consoles, it lists 0.1% for "Other (3DS/PS Vita)". Unless PornHub offers 3D porn that works on the 3DS (do they?!), I refuse to believe even 0.01% would use the 3DS browser in this capacity.
(On the other hand, that's 0.1% of video game consoles, and I can't imagine too many people use their consoles for porn in the first place... Basically I'd love to see absolute numbers for this)
If they're anything like me, it's the old laptop that you'd install Linux on as an experiment.
And maybe that laptop was only ah... Semi-retired at the time.
You saw the comment and verified it. We'll done.
I don't like YoY share percentage point delta. It's misleading and making it seem like a significant number of Mac users left, although they probably just stagnated while more Windows and Linux users came. I'd rarher see YoY absolute number delta.
