Entertainment wasn’t corporate in the way entertainment is now. A lot of the people I met back then are not alive anymore. You know, Aids or drugs or a combination of the two. Its bittersweet looking back. Even with Andy. I thought he was an old man at the time but he died in his 50s.”

Stephen Hawking fell into the same role in his later years. If your first introduction to him was trying to communicate science to stupid people, please read Black Holes and Baby Universes, or really, any of his works before he was getting ready to die.

I read through his wiki entry and didn't notice anything of import except he made a bunch of flop movies and then he married a personal trainer 40 years younger than him
