We had the Six Day War in 1967, we had the Nineteen Day War (Yom Kippur) in 1973, and now we've had the Twelve Day War. I wonder how many more very short wars will plague the region until Palestine is freed?

However, moving on from Western Asia from a little while, we have some interesting news from Chile - the former labor minister and communist, Jeannette Jara, has won the primary election for the left-wing bloc in a landslide (~60% of the vote), as the current President, Gabriel Boric, is term-limited. Her achievements include a minimum wage increase and a reduction of the work week to 40 hours.

In November, Jara will face down the contenders from other parties, including José Antonio Kast, who is analogous to Brazil's Bolsonaro. Unfortunately, Jara is now the lead figure of a party that has been taking quite a few Ls under Boric's leadership. Ostensibly a Democratic Socialist, he ruled as - you guessed it - a neoliberal, bending the knee to the US and EU. He not only failed to overthrow the Pinochet-era constitution, he actually allowed the right-wing to turn the proposed new constitution into something worse, and had to settle for campaigning against the new one and keeping the old one. And he had very little solidarity with other left-leaning leaders on the continent, like Maduro, Lula, Petro, or Castillo.

With this in mind, I cannot help but look at Argentina's very recent history and feel a little dread - but if anybody can save Chile at this point, it can only be a communist.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. just seen a Cradle report that Isr**l is planning to force palestinians out of the west bank into jordan. This tracks with reports ive been getting from my family since july 2023 about iof and settlers distributing flyers and regularly warning all palestinians to flee to Jordan.

This news just sunk me to an even deeper sense of despair. I have consistently, since july 2023, been unable to process at all everything is happening and i feel such helplessness. I am the descendant of nakba survivors, our village was destroyed and for 77 years no living member of my family has seen our ancestral home. I have grown up separated from the vast majority of my family who still are living under occupation, in refugee camps that have turned into permanent homes. I have grown up with rage and anger at what has been stolen, the erasure of our history, while constantly being subject to vile islamophobic views of myself and my people here in the US.

Im sorry im kind of venting now, i had somewhere i was going when i started typing but i dont know anymore. Fuck every comprador regime, fuck the zionist entity, fuck white supremacy, fuck the so called united states.

There is footage floating around of a Yankee death squad in Gaza celebrating in Yankee english accents while shooting starving Palestinians in Gaza at an "aid distribution point."

It is nauseating.

The US NATO israel genocide of Gaza killed 33 journalists and social media activists yesterday when the child killing iof bombed an internet cafe.

This photo shows Palestinian journalist Bayan Abu Sultan who survived the zionist airstrike targeting al-Baqa Café in western Gaza City on June 30, 2025.

Additionally, the US private military contractors operating the so-called "Humanitarian Aid Stations" shot 15 starving Palestinians to death at an "aid distribution point" in Rafah yesterday.

Republicans have the votes to pass their bill that includes evils such as (but not limited to) kicking 15 million Americans off of their health insurance and giving ICE a budget more than half that of the PRC’s entire military (37x higher than the budget of the entire DPRK military for those keeping score at home.) Republicans expanded on the democrats idea of detention centers for undocumented people, constructed/opened a concentration camp in 8 days, and are now selling merch about it. It really makes you wonder: what exactly did the supposed “opposition” party spend the past month doing in preparation for this bill to be voted on?

They spent the entire time trying to create a national debate (surrounding a local election, mind you) intentionally smearing one of the most popular candidates for office their party has had in decades as an antisemite despite the fact he has never said one remotely disparaging thing about the Jewish people in his life. All of this because he is taking the moderate, NOW MAJORITY POSITION of Democratic constituents, of expressing more sympathy with the Palestinian people than Israelis.

A decades altering bill passed without an iota of organizing or warning their constituents against it, and without scoring the easiest political slam dunk of the past several decades by choosing not to blast anti-Republican propaganda about how the bill will negatively impact those living in majority republican areas. It’s so fucking sickening and deeply irredeemable that it sounds fake.

You can’t even call this controlled opposition. Literally the only thing we have ever seen it do effectively is mobilize its wealthy donors and wage bureaucratic lawfare in order to torpedo its own popular candidates who dare step a single toe out of line of complete compliance with the conservative political agenda of the national bourgeois.

Qassam anti-tank troops continue to deliver explosives by hand against the "IDF" armoured vehicles, this time the Merkava's ammunition suffered a cook off. Multiple angles available as well. The sheer emotion the cameraman has when his buddy returns alive after delivering the explosive is amazing too.

Absolute bravery from the palestinian fighters, there's nothing more to add really. Clearly shows how each side fights the other, while one likes to flatten the entire place with their air force and long range artillery, while going in inside their heavily armored vehicles taking zero risks, the other fights on as if they were the protagonists of a typical Hollywood war movie. But this isn't fiction: The palestinian fights like a true hero would. I can't stop but to think of Saving Private Ryan's movie, where in the last battle the US soldiers fight the SS troops up close and personal, planting explosives on the german tanks as they push into the town. In that movie, we're shown how the US soldiers are heroes for fighting that way when all odds are against them. Then again, that's a movie, and the palestinian fights like that in real life and proudly shows it as well.

Defeating the zionist monster, one hand-delivered explosive at a time.

The CPRF Congress adopted a resolution recognizing Khrushchev's report on Stalin as a mistake RBC

The issue is about recognizing as “erroneous and politically biased” the report of the First Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee on Stalin’s personality cult, which he delivered on February 25, 1956 at the 20th Congress of the CPSU

The Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation adopted a resolution recognizing as “erroneous and politically biased” the report of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU Nikita Khrushchev on the cult of personality of Joseph Stalin at the 20th Congress of the CPSU, an RBC correspondent reports.

In 2016, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov called the merits of Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin the fact that they “assembled the entire empire, built nine thousand of the best factories, gave the best social policy, essentially created nuclear missile weapons and broke through into space.” He criticized Khrushchev for trying to debunk the “Leninist-Stalinist modernization” and thereby “committed a crime against the people.”

Vologda Oblast Governor Georgy Filimonov claimed in an interview with RBC this spring that the data on Stalin's repressions were "greatly exaggerated" by Khrushchev and that they were "an instrument for strengthening power." "We need to speak about repressions in a balanced way; it was a necessary instrument for strengthening power at that time," Filimonov believes. A monument to Stalin was unveiled on the territory of the branch of the Vologda State Museum-Reserve "Vologda Exile."

In a 2017 interview with director Oliver Stone, Vladimir Putin called the “excessive demonization of Stalin” one of the ways, one of the ways of attacking the Soviet Union and Russia. It is important that political repressions do not recur in the country’s history, he said in 2023 at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights.

In April of this year, Putin promised to consider renaming Volgograd to Stalingrad, and in the same month he named Volgograd airport "Stalingrad".

Took them 71 years.

trump-drenched : "We're going to give them responsibility for these people and we're going to have a registration system. They can be here illegally, pay taxes. They won't gain citizenship and the farmers need them to work."

Trump wants to give farmers the power to decide who can stay in the US. At a press conference in Des Moines, Trump said that the farmer can be a guarantor for the illegal immigrant and that his responsibility as an owner will dictate whether the worker can stay without being a citizen. For experts, this is a step towards serfdom: workers without rights, kept for economic gain. Trump calls it a practical solution, but it looks more like a 21st century fiefdom.

Oh wild the sheriff that responded to the Idaho shooter was a former LA pig that got specialized federal training for counter-terrorism and has multiple security clearances and connections to every u.s intelligence agency and had also been trained by mossad and shin bet.

Shooter's step-dad may have also had connections to the war industry via ammunition manufacturer "The Kinetic Group" formerly connected to "Vista Outdoor"

Folks this stuff is screaming bungled conspiracy to me. The cops destroyed the evidence scene, pushed the perp's car off a cliff or some shit to make it hard to immediately investigate it too in the name of "preventing the perp from possibly fleeing" and how first-hand witnesses described the gunfight as the cops taking fire from multiple directions and how there was circumstantial evidence of spent/unspent ammo scattered around suggests a small possibility that this was a multiple perp operation instead of a single perp operation.

With not much info on the shooter still being known beyond the fact he liked firefighters, this whole event is still shrouded in Conspiracy Wrapped in a Mystery Inside of an Enigma.

Edit: just found out that the shooter was a nazi gunfucker who's remembered by his classmates as being a nazi gunfucker who wanted to go to college to join ROTC and be a murdering boot like his real dad (who was a FUCKING CAV SCOUT WITH THEIR DUMB FUCKING HATS AND SPURS! folks anyone that's a part of the fucking Cav scouts with their shitty lamp gear is fucking sus)

SCMP: China tells EU it cannot afford Russian loss in Ukraine war, sources say

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told the European Union’s top diplomat on Wednesday that Beijing cannot afford a Russian loss in Ukraine because it fears the United States would then shift its whole focus to Beijing, according to several people familiar with the exchange.

The comment, to the EU’s Kaja Kallas, would confirm what many in Brussels believe to be Beijing’s position but jar with China’s public utterances. The foreign minstry regularly says China is “not a party” to the war. Some EU officials involved were surprised by the frankness of Wang’s remarks.

Wang is said to have rejected, however, the accusation that China was materially supporting Russia’s war effort, financially or militarily, insisting that if it was doing so, the conflict would have ended long ago.

some-controversy

During a marathon four-hour debate on a wide range of geopolitical and commercial grievances, Wang was said to have given Kallas – the former Estonian prime minister who only late last year took up her role as the bloc’s de facto foreign affairs chief – several “history lessons and lectures”.

The stupid BBB passes. It increases ICE funding by like ~400%. The 'Alligator Alcatraz' started construction 10 days ago and first immigrants are already arriving there today. Things will escalate quickly.

Plus, of course, a lot of cuts to everything from Medicaid to Medicare. IIRC, the passing of this bill also triggers around ~200k firings in the federal government, people who were officially just furloughed until September (because Trump didn't have the authority to fire them right away).

cat-confused

Israelis make up 40% of new Portuguese citizens

In five years, 74,000 Israelis obtained Portuguese passports, ahead of Brazilians immigrants and immigrants from other lusophone countries who are a much more visible part of portuguese society. Also only 25% of naturalizations are from immigrants who have lived in the country for six years

This is because of a law passed a few years ago, at the time thought to be symbolic, where supposed descendents of Sephardic jews expelled from the iberian peninsula in the late XV century could apply to receive portuguese nationality.

What it really turned into was a scheme where the israeli community in Oporto, who is solely responsible for vetting supposed descendents of sephardis, and travel agencies in Telaviv sold passports to whoever they wanted, this is how the russian billionaire Roman Abramovich some fucking how became a portuguese citizen.

In a country where the government has bought into far-right anti-immigration discourse and is right now trying to pass laws to make it harder for immigrants who have ACTUALLY been working and living in the country for several years to obtain nationality, it's obvious that this exception made for israelis is completely unfair to say the least.

Everyone from the center-left to the far-right is in favor of it, I think only the communist party has opposed it and of course you get called an anti-semite for doing so.

This will be us in a few years

The price of sugar in Gaza is extremely high, and the Americans involved in the American aid know this very well. What happened today is one of the worst crimes ever committed.

Read carefully what I’m about to say: as soon as the first wave of American aid arrives, people rush to get sugar first. Today, the Americans deliberately placed the sugar in a separate area. Then, they dug a deep pit just before the sugar zone, covered it with nylon, and lightly sprinkled it with dirt so that no one would see it or notice.

The starving reached the sugar first, and seven people fell into the pit. Then a bulldozer came and buried them alive.

Meanwhile, a man in his fifties was returning from the aid area, nearly collapsing. I held him, and he said to me: “I’d rather die of hunger than go back to that aid—it’s aid of death.” - Omar Hamad | عُـمَـرْ 𓂆

Court said to approve mom’s request to use fallen soldier son’s sperm to have grandchild

Sharon Eisenkot permitted to use sperm of 19-year-old son Maor, Golani fighter killed in Gaza who was also nephew of ex-IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot

An Eilat court has authorized Sharon Eisenkot to use sperm retrieved from her son, IDF soldier Maor Eisenkot, who was killed in Gaza in 2023, to have a grandchild through surrogacy, according to a Channel 12 report Saturday.

The court based its ruling on testimonies showing that Maor had clearly expressed his wish to have children and had agreed to the posthumous use of his sperm, even with a woman he did not know. Sharon Eisenkot only learned of his wishes after Maor was killed in battle, through a childhood friend to whom he had confided.

To Understand the Economy, This Fed President Is Ditching His Desk WSJ

When the conversation turned to inflation, the Richmond Fed president extracted an uncomfortably honest answer about how President Trump’s tariffs have some firms thinking about their power to raise prices.

You can probably appreciate this from your McKinsey background: We’re raising prices where we can,” said Jim Datin, a Chapel Hill-based life-sciences executive and partner at a private-equity firm.

And what convinced Datin his company still had pricing power, Barkin asked, when conventional wisdom said it had evaporated?

“Some of it’s opportunistic with the supply chain right now,” Datin offered.

“In other words, tariffs,” Barkin said, translating the corporate-speak. Then the management consultant-turned-central banker cut to the chase: Are those price increases for tariff-related costs or are his businesses using “tariff noise” as “air cover to raise prices”?

“It’s both,” said Datin. “And I feel a little guilty saying that.” A regional banker chimed in: Some of his customers were reporting the same thing.

It’s this kind of candor that is keeping Barkin on edge—businesses raising prices not because they have to, but because they think they can get away with it. For Fed officials who fought hard to bring inflation down, such admissions make them uneasy.

There you have it, folks. Tariffs are not inherently inflationary, especially since the US runs on a free-floating exchange rate system.

The price hikes come from businesses thinking they can get away with it, not because they have to.

Bold of them to admit it.

Protests against surging mass tourism in Mexico City end in vandalism, harassment of tourists AP

Tension had been mounting in the city since U.S. “digital nomads” flocked to Mexico City in 2020, many to escape coronavirus lockdowns in the U.S. or to take advantage of cheaper rent prices in the Latin American city.

Since then, rents have soared and locals have increasingly gotten pushed out of their neighborhoods, particularly areas like Condesa and Roma, lush areas packed with coffee shops and restaurants.

Michelle Castro, a 19-year-old college student, was among the flocks of people protesting. She said that she’s from the city’s working class city center, and that she’s watched slowly as apartment buildings have been turned into housing for tourists.

“Mexico City is going through a transformation,” she said. “There are a lot of foreigners, namely Americans, coming to live here. Many say it’s xenophobia, but it’s not. It’s just that so many foreigners come here, rents are skyrocketing because of Airbnb. Rents are so high that some people can’t even pay anymore.”

The Mexico City protest follows others in European cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Paris and Rome against mass tourism.

Interesting development. It used to be that developing countries want to attract as many foreigners as possible to stimulate the local economy with their strong currencies, now people are even fed up with American tourists.

Doesn’t look very welcoming for those who want to flee from Trump as well.

Idaho murderer speculation going wild rn with who the speculated murderer is.

Right wing cranks doing their usual knee-jerk reaction to shield themselves from the truth.

Everyone else is pointing out the speculative shooter's dad was a former army scout turned neo-nazi biker gangster and step-dad having ties to the u.s Diplomatic Security Service and possibly Mossad as well due to his education in fucking Israel.

I'll continue to say this is all speculation but oh boy is it some fun speculation.

Someone here previously posted a post from Gaza journalist Omar Hamad about the US-israel using sugar as bait to lure starving Palestinians into a death trap in Gaza. Now he has deactivated his twitter account in response to threats from the official US-military-run "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" twitter account.

Libertarians howl when social media corporations are ordered to deplatform Nazis but hide from public eye when fascists they defend ban books. In Santa Catarina, Brazil, far-right councilwoman Jessica Lemonie is filing a bill to ban "Captain of the Sands" from schools and libraries.

In 1937, when Jorge Amado's novel was first released, the Vargas dictatorship banned it and held public book burnings. It was later banned for 21 years during the "free speech" Bolsonaro's beloved military dictatorship. Nevertheless, it's solde 4.3 million copies in 12 languages.

Fascists hate Captain of the Sands because it humanizes homeless teens living on the beach in Salvador as real people with hopes and dreams like everyone else. The book took on great relevance during the military police massacres of street children in the 80s and 90s.

What annoys the fascists as much as debunking their dehumanization homeless children to justify summary executions, is the fact that the main character in Captains of the Sands grows up and becomes a communist labor union organizer.

A journalist in Gaza writes

One of the crimes you may not have heard about before, and which we haven’t talked about much due to the flood of bloody news: israel is stealing rubble from the Gaza Strip, collecting it and transporting it by trucks to the occupied territories, in order to recycle it and sell it to Israeli contracting companies for profit. At the same time, this delays any future reconstruction process in Gaza by fully controlling what enters the sector and preventing any internal recycling process.

It happened in Rafah and the north, and now in eastern Khan Younis.

It is also a form of concealing the crime before Gaza is opened to the world… just as Israel hid many Palestinian villages that were destroyed and whose people were displaced in the occupied interior.

NetPol, a policing watchdog network that provides legal support to protesters, has received reports that even clothing with "Free Palestine" is being interpreted by some cops as a "potential breach of the proscription order".

This isnt surprising to anyone here, but it goes without saying that the cops were never going to treat this order the same way they would fascists. It would be like telling someone with a union jack tshirt that they may be showing support for Nation Front!

These cops are obviously lying or misinformed of the law. Anything they do will absolutely not hold up to decent scrutiny by a judge - it is intimidation or stupidity. Even in the hellworld of TERF island.

I think the "official" guidance (even from cool orgs like NetPol) will essentially amount to hiding slogans, following police orders, and avoiding arrest where possible. I personally disagree, and believe we need to challenge cops on this when and where possible.

If you dont use your limited civil liberties to question the authority of the police to intimidate/repress anyone outside the strictest definition of "support for Palestine Action and its cause" we will essentially be obeying in advance for the ultimate goal of total illegalisation of Palestinian existence.
