Only Bernie sanders resisted before.

Who will resist this time

It wasn’t cool the first fucking time. It was totally obvious.

This War Will Destabilize The Entire Mideast Region And Set Off A Global Shockwave Of Anti-Americanism vs. No It Won’t

Published: March 26, 2003

Literally the exact same arguments.

Look, you’ve been proven wrong, so stop talking. You’ve had your say already. Be quiet, okay? Everything’s fine.

You’re wrong.

Woke Leftists were proved wrong in 2003 and then again in 2011 during the intervention in Libya and then again with Syria and Yemen and Gaza and they will be proven wrong again in 2025.

If you believe otherwise, you are part of Hamas or Al Qaeda or something, idk. The point is that you're antisemitic.

And now, with the power of Palantir, we know who is saying this shit. We're going to identify you, add you to a list, get you kicked out of college / fired from your job, harass you at traffick stops and TSA checkpoints, blacklisted, arrested, and deported. In 2025, we're finally going to end these protests. We're going to shut down these voices on TV and Radio and the internet. We're going to purge all these people out of elected office and remove them from the voting rolls.

The future of America will be one people, one voice, one great big hive mind. And we'll all agree that our next war is correct, just like all of the prior wars. We will be unified in our desire to destroy everyone who disagrees with us, at last. And then we will triumph!

And no, stop calling this fascism. It isn't fascism. You are so going on the god damned list.

Praise be the MAGAMind Collective! We think so you don't have to!

But they have cake! And it’s yellow…

America is a threat to world peace

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 9 points 9 hours ago

Has been for the last 80 years.

Sad but true

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 107 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

It's not even the same level of propaganda. This time even US intelligence agencies are saying there are no WMD and that Iran was still years away from being able to have one. On the other hand Netanyahu has spent literal decades saying Iran is going to have nukes by next week.

[–] cook_pass_babtridge@feddit.uk 8 points 8 hours ago

Also, Bush and Blair at least tried to go through the UN, before they just ignored it and did it anyway. This time it's just "oh I guess we're at war now".

[–] Willy@sh.itjust.works 47 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

There wasn’t much of a consensus for Iraqi wmds either.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 30 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

And it was never supposed to be nukes right? It was like chemical weapons or something.

[–] rc__buggy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 9 hours ago

Said they bought yellow cake uranium I think.

Chappelle Show taught me that

[–] AppleTea@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 hours ago

that was a back-peddle made by the Murdoch machine nearly a decade later, where they tried to claim some old expired chemical weapons (that the United States gave to Saddam in like the 'eighties) were in fact the fabled WMDs.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 12 hours ago

Bush Jr did at one point say something like "... the smoking gun, which could come in the form of a mushroom cloud."

Think it was a SOTU. 02?

[–] boonhet@lemm.ee 13 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

The CIA knew it was bullshit but Cheney wanted there to be WMDs so chose to believe bullshit artists instead, if John Kiriakou is to be believed. One of the only times in history where CIA might have been the good guys.

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 16 points 15 hours ago

I'm just saying that even organizations that were lying about Iraqi WMD are not doing it now.

If Iran really have WMDs the Zionists aren't going to pull the shit they're currently pulling right now.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 19 points 12 hours ago

Israel is the bully who only talks shit when their older brother is behind him. They forgot to look back this time and got clocked, now they're crying

[–] sfxrlz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 57 points 16 hours ago

They want people uneducated for a reason.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 39 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

It wasn't okay the first time around either. Anyone credulous enough to believe that obvious bullshit shouldn't have been allowed to form legal contracts for their own safety.

[–] F1gm3nt3d@lemmy.world 12 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

It's a lot of the same people who voted Trump in, so that shit tracks.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 14 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I was a young teen when it happened and it just seemed ridiculous that anyone would be naïve enough to fall for the extremely obvious lies.

[–] F1gm3nt3d@lemmy.world 9 points 12 hours ago

I'm probably? a couple decades older than you, it's always been this way. My entire life has been Americans convincing other Americans to fuck their own country and futures for culture war bullshit, petty vengeances, and unmitigated greed on the promise that they'll get theirs too only to be left empty handed and worse off than before. Then they vote the same way again while complaining that all the problems are the same. The joke about the definition of insanity applies.

Man. I watched this skit when it came out and I still refer to it. It's lived rent free in my head for 18 years (?!!!) and I only watched it once when it came out. Thanks for that mental whiplash
