Watch the US Congress pass a bill to fund it before the end of the week. The only question is, can the US build them fast enough?

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 18 points 2 months ago (2 children)

We definitively know they cannot based on the experience in Ukraine. The US is able to produce interceptors in very small volumes per year, they're now also hamstrung by China blocking exports of rare earths needed to make them. Also worth noting that it takes 2-4 interceptors per missile, to even attempt an interception. The math simply doesn't work in US favor here.

I guess God will protect them once they run out. Or that's what they must have thought because how delusional must you be to think that having more monopoly money will make you impervious to the humongous firepower that Iran has (and their ridiculous population advantage if this becomes a shooting war)

And also shipping? What is the turn-around time from US government approving the budget to interceptors actually in position?

Logical, Israels praised "Iron Dome" is good for the DIY Rockets which could afford Palestina, but not agains real missiles from Iran. Tasting now their own medicine.

I love watching them misfire and end up hitting their own. https://youtube.com/shorts/LYxs_4uDx9g

That's American™️ Engineering for you.

Redneck Tech, made with Imperial units.

Until they put Netanyahu in jail or send him to Geneva or turn him over to the Gazans Israel is running low on defensibility.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 26 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Israel has been a genocidal settler-colonial project since its inception, and will continue to be even if Netanyahu was publicly hanged. Israel has never truly been defensible since its inception a century ago.

GDF recently put up a great exposé on how the two state solution was always a sham and a stalling tactic. Why the ‘Two-State Solution’ Is Impossible. Really worth the watch for people who think Netanyahu is the problem.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 14 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Yep, 100%! The only solution has always been a single, secular Palestine, with minority protections. That's what the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and many Palestinian liberation groups have advocated for for many decades.

[–] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

GDF has been doing such great work with these. It's all super well sourced and his sources are almost always from Israeli/Zionist sources, which makes it really difficult to deny.

And he's put his output on high gear this past year, really commendable

Serious question because seemingly no one dares to explicitly talk about it: What's the general socialist/far leftist view on what you'd do with the Israeli population after Palestine is free? Deport them back to Europe or something?

Or am I misunderstanding what everyone means when they say one Palestinian State?

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 months ago

The creation of a single, secular state with minority protections. Former Israelis could stay, but the people of Palestine that were oppressed for a century will be, at least for a time, the driving factor of reconstruction. Any terrorist cells made up of former IDF would be rooted out, but former Israelis that comply with the demands of Palestinians would not need to be deported, most likely.

They'd just leave on their own, that's literally what happened with most settlers in every country that got its independence, once they realize they can't have 3 room apartements for free they'll leave to somewhere else

Enforce laws fairly, ban hate speech, teach real history in schools.
