Nattapong Pinta, a Thai agricultural worker, was abducted during the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz and later murdered by the Mujahideen Brigades, a lesser-known Palestinian militant group, highlighting the diverse terror networks active in Gaza beyond Hamas.

The recovery of Pinta’s body in Rafah by Israeli forces, as reported by Defense Minister Israel Katz on June 7, 2025, underscores the ongoing complexity of hostage situations, with data from the UN OCHA indicating over 54,000 Palestinian deaths since the conflict escalated, reflecting the scale of violence.

The incident challenges narratives of a singular "jihadist brutality" by revealing multiple actors, while historical context from Wikipedia notes that Palestinian militant infiltration and violence have roots in the 1950s, evolving with groups like Hamas using suicide bombings to derail peace processes since the 1990s.

Just FYI I think this post is getting brigaded by the tankie instances

Yeah it's Israel who has a monopoly on terrorizing Palestinians if you hadn't noticed

[–] rumimevlevi@lemmings.world 7 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Palestinians terrorism is nothing compared to Israelis terrorism. End occupation and violence will end

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 7 hours ago

That doesn't mean it is right or that the aggressors shouldn't be punished

The killings in Palestine aren't anywhere as bad as the holocaust but that doesn't mean it isn't genocide

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 0 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

That's stupid, multiple things can be true at once

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

That's not how emotion works

People are engaged in this at a emotional level. They need it to be absolutely one sided as anything else is an attack on their core identity. I think that is why you are being down voted

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

I mean that is a very valid point. I do wonder why people have decided to make this specific conflict of all things a part of their core identity when they have nothing to do with it, especially when you consider how there are other conflicts of this scale or bigger that either happening or have happened in recent times. Some people are out here trying to justify atrocities because it supports "their side" and it's the craziest thing to me.

You are the type of people who would both side nat turner revolt when he killed kids of slave owners

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world -4 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That's not "both siding", that's being principled. Terrorism is bad, full stop. There are no exceptions for anyone who commits terrorist attacks or justifications for any terrorist attacks.

[–] rumimevlevi@lemmings.world 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That both siding. Israel is the occupier palestine is the occupied. You would reject all previous colonized people right to freedom with your logic

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world -3 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

If you're actually arguing that the Oct 7th terrorists attacks were justified then you're a literal terrorist sympathizer.

[–] rumimevlevi@lemmings.world 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

If you think israel 57 years of occupation is justified you are a terrorist

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 9 points 21 hours ago

Fuck right off

[–] LainTrain@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 21 hours ago (4 children)

Oh that's okay then, the kidnapping of some guy in Thailand means all my taxes should go towards turning little kids in Palestine into skeletons instead of healthcare.

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

This is the textbook example of what a strawman argument is

Yep I remember this when Hamas blamed Israel on a missile strike that blew up a hospital

Gaza hospital blast likely a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket misfire, U.S. officials say

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/live-blog/israel-hamas-war-live-updates-rcna120978

Turned out to be these guys https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_Islamic_Jihad

This is so true:

Among the cascade of horrors unleashed that day, one of the most harrowing sights remains etched in my memory. It was a real-time video, circulated by Palestinian terrorists themselves, showing two men in civilian clothes from Gaza, jostling to capture the perfect angle as they filmed the slow, grotesque beheading of a barely living Thai worker writhing on the ground.

Average low-iq take from Eyekaytee

How many hospitals was bombed by israel?

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 0 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

One is to many...

This is a bad comparison. I'm on the side on not bombing hospitals. Anyone who does so is commiting war crimes.

[–] rumimevlevi@lemmings.world 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (1 children)

Huge difference between a misfire and deliberately attacking hospitals like Israel does

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago

"Misfire" means nothing

Israel could claim that all of the lives lost were "misfires." It wouldn't change the fact that they were killed.
