If I wake up before sunrise - sometimes I see bunnies in my front or back yard. I don't know why but last year they were also more active just after it got dark after sunset. Sometimes the night before garbage day I'd go to put the bins out on the street. I couple times there would be a bunny frozen there that I wouldn't see. I'd get too close he'd bolt and I had the crap scared out me. Maybe they did that on purpose - the little rascals.

I fucking love rabbits. As a child, my mom insisted it was cruel to keep a rabbit as a pet in a hutch, and encouraged me to feed the rabbits in the yard. They were really friendly and then that winter the snowy owls came, and fishers, and everything else lol so much trauma. Anyway now that I’m on my own, and have been converting turf grass back to savanna, I’m on about the third generation of rabbits (they all have distinct features), and recently saw a baby running around. The shrubs give them plenty of places to hide, and they’ve got a few burrows throughout. My folks also have a small herd who run up to my mom when she’s brings them their morning carrots (and the rabbit food they get from the feed store because “they need the vitamins and minerals!”😆)
