How does that work? I usually take 2 to 4 hours, how are all the other men supposed to fit in, in only 6 hours?

Or is it literally sleeping? Because I've been to a 80.000 people festival, there have been several thousand sleeping at the same time I was sleeping, so my track record is better then hers.

Wow. I hope she recovers fully and quickly.

583 men in six hours.

That's about 37 seconds each.

[–] tomatoisaberry@lemmy.world 46 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

You're assuming one at a time.

Question is the mean jerk time assuming the dtf is presorted.

[–] who@feddit.org 13 points 2 weeks ago

I think that's reasonable when when calculating an average.

It also assumes that men were the only other participants. ;)

OnlyFans star Annie Knight is sharing an update amid her recent hospitalization after sleeping with 583 men in six hours.

It's bizarre that US uses "sleeping with" to mean "had sex with". Readers clearly understand, she uses the word "sex" in her quotes, but the magazine/site insists on using that bizarre euphemism.

[–] tal@lemmy.today 39 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (3 children)

I don't think that that's very uncommon. When one "goes to the bathroom", it's understood that this is a euphemism for urinating or defecating, not just hanging out there.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

TIL I've been doing it wrong my whole life /s

[–] sbv@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Agreed. It just seems like a weird editorial decision. Maybe it's because I'm not a regular US reader, or I live in a different country, but it seems to slightly obfuscate what happened.

[–] herrvogel@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

You're looking way too deep into it. "Sleeping with someone" is such a common expression that nobody can possibly hope to obfuscate anything with it. Everybody knows they fucked. There will be no mistakes, no confusion. Besides, it's not unusual for different contexts to use different phrases and expressions for the same thing. The press using a "softer" language is not a uniquely American thing by a long shot and it's kinda weird to assume it would be.

Not an American either btw.

The same turn of phrase exists in e.g. German.

[–] brax@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago

I've always hated the saying. Clearly you're not sleeping if you're boning...

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

One fewer word/syllable.

I think they should pare it down further though, and just say 'fucking'

I love the euphemism that she "slept with" 583 guys. I mean that's a lotta naps in 6 hours! Takes me at least 20 minutes to drift off.

“I don’t understand why people have such an issue with it. These guys are just out here living life. They’ve been given an opportunity, and they’re like, ‘F*** it. Like, let’s just do it.’ They’re just having some fun. I think the people that are hating [are] probably just jealous, and their lives are really boring …I mean, the more they hate on me, the more views I get, and the more money I make.”

[–] SarcasticMan@lemmy.world 55 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

“…I mean, the more they hate on me, the more views I get, and the more money I make.”

I think that pretty much sums up a big part of America's problem right there lol

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

The internet hate machine is hardly an exclusively American problem.

This is the third name I've seen with a sex with hundreds of men title in the last month or so.

In this a new trend??? In which case ... I hate to be old school but wtf

[–] hypnicjerk@lemmy.world 35 points 2 weeks ago

i assure you that group sex is not a new trend. it predates agriculture, civilization, and humanity itself.

those numbers would have been incredibly difficult to organize in the pre-internet era however.

[–] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 25 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

It is, and there's a handful of people trying to one-up each other.

With great financial success, I might add.

[–] SquiffSquiff@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

I think they might be trying for more than just one up

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

With great financial success, I might add.

Hopefully that hospital trip worth it.

[–] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

She's buying a house at 28, so possibly.

Besides, I've needed medical treatment for something that happened at work before.

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I sprained my ankle playing soccer at a work-related event, I wouldn't put it in the same ball park as bleeding genitals, though

Either she never read the book "Snuff" or she wanted to see if it would really happen...

[–] Bunbury@feddit.nl 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What are the chances that one of the first 50 or so people had some kind of STD and this is just a mass-spreader event? What are the chances that she now has permanently damaged her health?

I’m fine with sex between consenting adults as long as it happens safely. I just don’t see how this could possibly have been safe. And even if (and that’s a big “if”) all of the participants got tested beforehand, what are the chances that the next person “inspired by” her will also do this safely?

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Typically professionals do ensure all their partners are tested beforehand.

what are the chances that the next person “inspired by” her will also do this safely?

Puritanical hand wringing. Tons of people have unsafe sex every day. If you want to lower STI spread, create public awareness campaigns and improve sex ed for students.
