Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

I'm an adult male who works downtown near a pretty nice park. Now that the weather is getting better, I'd like to get outside at lunch and work on juggling.

I've never done it because I don't want to the the weirdo that's juggling in the middle of the day, but I don't really have any other time when I can practice in an open space.

Would it be weird if you were in a park and a grown up man was there juggling?

Edit: Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. It probably says a lot about what I think about people who choose to mind their own business while engaging in things they enjoy in their spare time. I've learned a lot here. There also doesn't seem to be a juggling/flow arts Lemmy community so maybe that's something we can do.

Who cares what others think? Live your life.

The trick there is that there's a metal rod going up his trousers and all the way deep into his butt

If you're not weirdo, are you even living, lol? Embrace the weirdo! Chase joy with all your might!

I think it'd be weird if I didn't come across an adult juggling or similar when I go to the park.

Every morning on my way to work I see people juggling in all sorts of ways. Personally the most weird and socially acceptable way is to jog downtown. Downtown is terrible for jogging, dangerous drug addicts (no offense, just not the safest people to be around), dangerous drivers. an entire landscape built around cars, anxious and pissed of drivers trying to find their way out of the traffic hell hole the city created.

A park is fine.

Yes, it's slightly weird. Yes, some people may whisper as they walk by or maybe even openly laugh a bit. People are rude.

But don't let that stop you from doing what you love. You may have someone stop and tell you about a club. You may have a group of children see and be amazed at you. Good and bad can come from it, nobody here can tell you.

But in the end, the person who's going to remember the most thet you were juggling on the park was you. So do you want to remember looking out and seeing nature, feeling the sun on your skin, happy you're alive? Or do you want to remember how you were too afraid to go to the park?

Not trying to be rude. But I used to be the one afraid to go to the park. But since going, have I had a couple embarrassing times I'd rather forget? Yes, unfortunately. But honestly most of the time nothing really happens and im just happy to be alive. Few times I've made a friend and talked for a bit, but that's few and far between.

Moral of the story, try do do what will make you happiest looking back in 10 years

I think it all hangs on what you're juggling

Why not? Sounds like a fun guy tbh 😄 It wouldn't even an issue if you only did it "for the attention". It's juggling. It's perfectly fine to do that for a crowd, that's half the fun for many. And it's what brings a public space like a park to life.

It's completely fine. Unless you're juggling with your balls or other's naked body parts.

I used to have some friends who were jugglers, I'd hang out when they'd practice in the park and even learned a couple simple patterns. Occasionally someone would stop by and say hi and say that they were a juggler too or something. The only time anyone objected was when one of them started to juggle flaming torches at night, a security guard asked him to stop. But in general it was no more/less weird than throwing a frisbee. (this was in the midwest USA, dunno about other parts of the world.)
