And it's gradually being phased out everywhere but the US. In particular, the EU has been cracking down on small, corrupt countries such as Malta and Cyprus running this shitty scam.
Do you have any source of it being phased out? As far as I know, at least 10 EU countries have some sort of "Golden Visa" program where you invest money in the country and get to immigrate.

Desperate people are the ones that are afraid of gangs shooting them so they don't have the years to sit at the camps waiting for a confirmation that their visa's are out. The people with millions to spare on getting into the US, are the ones who have been exploiting the hell out of their people.

You are indeed correct. A higher card "sticht" (=beats) a lower cards.

The only correct definition for sure. At this point if anyone says someone played their trump card. The only appropriate response is "They shit themselves!?"
