that's an interesting title because clearly israel is not interested in a truce either, and that's been the case for a very long time now

No one's really on the right side here. Not killing each other is the correct course of action.
True, "not killing each other" is a great basis for things.
Though when there's an oppressor and those being oppressed, as a rule I'm going to side with the oppressed.
"It's been 3 months since we cut off all food and medicine to the civilians in your territory. Next we're going to fully occupy your territory, and kill you and anyone we assert is part of you. Hey wait, what do you mean you won't negotiate with us?"
There is some absurdity to this. I'm trying to stay above the fray.
