Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg not only is a media giant but also a sporting fanatic. While everyone is aware of his love for combat sports, only a few know about his interest in surfing. Like Meta has a knack for launching a new update every once in a while, its maker has a fondness for surfing treacherous waves intermittently. Interestingly, paddling into the ocean helps Zuckerberg stay focused.

Jesus. What a ham-handed PR piece. He has billions, but hires Temu PR for his humanization campaign. What a complete jackass.

He really went hard on the sunblocker because everyone knows that lizards love the sun.

[–] heyWhatsay@slrpnk.net 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I expected to hear an older British man say: "And here, we can see the pale water lizard riding the waves, in hopes of finding friends. So far, the efforts have been in vain."

[–] Soku@lemmy.world 1 points 27 minutes ago

I know the voice I'm hearing it in

[–] MojoMcJojo@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago

"In 2022, the Eye of Sauron opened up about the reasons he surfs every morning."

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 12 points 10 hours ago

I heard for night routine but day???

[–] red_pigeon@lemm.ee 11 points 13 hours ago

Honestly, there is nothing to learn in this

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 52 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (5 children)

He tries so hard to be cool.

Why do billionaires NEED to be liked so badly? Is it because they don't trust that anyone in their life likes them for who they are, instead of their money? Maybe, it's because their own kids and wives hate them?

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 2 points 57 minutes ago

He probably is just Autistic

[–] Pnut@lemm.ee 2 points 4 hours ago

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We can't imagine what it's like to be that obscenely wealthy. Logic would state that it works the other way too. They have very little concept of humanity in general. You and I would be the same if no one in the world could tell us "no". It's a form of psychosis, in my humble opinion.

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 24 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Money can't fix self esteem.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Can get you saint hood if you housed millions.

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

You can at least go to the medium place.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 12 hours ago

if only there was some way to get rid of the money

[–] Ioughttamow@fedia.io 52 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Rare photo indeed. He’s usually better at staying secluded after molting

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemm.ee 13 points 20 hours ago

This is ridiculous. Lizard people don’t molt.

[–] N0body@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Zuckerberg surfs every morning right before he indulges in his complicated work algorithms, reports the New York Post. Now obviously being an IT giant comes with a casket full of responsibilities

Dressing up as a thicc Geosha Surfer every morning helps Zuck deal with his daily casket of problems.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 10 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

complicated work algorithms

Pour more billions into VR!!!! ONE OF THESE DAYS IT HAS TO PAY OFF1!1!!

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

Whatever dude. They're complicated. You couldn't understand.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Hey i like vr, I think it's neat that we had a billionaire pour liquid money on it and make a shit ton of r&d, even if it still hasn't become a breakthrough killer platform.

I think it shows spine.... Or something.

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Zuck has been nothing but terrible for the state of VR. Oculus was doing fine before Facebook bought them, and since then all they've contributed is trying to fragment the ecosystem.

[–] Lv_InSaNe_vL@lemmy.world 1 points 26 minutes ago

Nah the Quest 3 (and I'd argue still the 2) is easily the best headset on the market right now.

Nothing else comes close to the features, quality, and most importantly the price.

You can hate meta and Facebook and the zucc all you want but they are doing legitimate really really cool things with VR

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

I like VR too! But all those billions aren't going into R&D, they are going into their shitty "metaverse" & exclusivity deals for VR content providers. Meta is just trying to capture the VR market before it properly gets going, so they have a revenue stream like Google & Apple.

That's very bad for the future of VR. If they succeed, it will massively dampen the market of possible ventures, and will ensure one of the worst companies on the planet gets even more personal information from everyone.

he does do BJJ.

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 14 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Zinc really is excellent sunblock. Makes you look like a doofus and it gets absolutely everywhere, but you aren't sunburnt.

[–] termaxima@programming.dev 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

We have micronised Zinc now, which blocks the sun exactly as well, but doesn’t make you look like V for Vendetta !

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

But it wears off. I can say that after a day of sailing with normal sunblock versus a day sailing with diaper cream you will notice a difference.

[–] KeenFlame@feddit.nu 3 points 9 hours ago

I will notice many, many differences after a day of sailing regardless

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 21 hours ago

Isn't this the famous Patterson footage of Bigfoot?

jerma's evil cousin

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 7 points 19 hours ago

This guy is ridiculous, but most people use less sunblock than recommended and mineral sunblock, while it leaves a white residue, is probably the safest considering it doesn't get absorbed into your body.

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 9 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

This ad riddled slop factory is not "evidence"

[–] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

What a nauseatingly puffpiece-y puff piece

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 7 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Practicing his mime skills while surfing. It’s called multitasking. 😉
